The Canadian Wildcat basketball team finally opened their 2022-23 campaign by competing at the Gruver Holiday Christmas Classic before a non-district matchup at Panhandle on Tuesday.

The Wildcats went 2-1 at the Gruver Tournament, beating Stratford 54-48 and taking down Boys Ranch 64-40 before suffering a loss to Pampa 58-35.
