I’m happy to share that I’m running for re-election as your Hemphill County & District Clerk. 

Serving this community has truly been an honor, and I’m grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me. I’ve worked in the Clerk’s Office since 2014, starting as a deputy clerk and later as chief deputy. I was appointed Clerk in March of 2022 and was honored to be elected at the end of that same year. Canadian has been my home for over 30 years. 

My husband, Hugo, and I have three wonderful children Israel, Elizabeth, and Hector and our family is proud to be part of this community. In this role, I handle the day-to-day duties of County Clerk, District Clerk, Election Official, and Voter Registrar. That includes maintaining court records, processing civil, probate, and criminal filings, issuing vital records, managing jury duties, supporting our courts, and assisting citizens with voter registration. I also oversee local elections—preparing materials, training poll workers, and testing voting and tabulating equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly. I maintain the clerk and election websites as well.

I work with statewide E-filing daily, E-record, use the TxEVER vital records system, stay current on all required cybersecurity training, and am certified to administer Acknowledgment of Paternity affidavits. I make sure our office stays in compliance with state and local laws, and I stay up to date on the regulations that guide our work. 

I am also incredibly grateful for my staff, whose dedication and teamwork make it possible for us to serve our community effectively every day. I truly love serving Hemphill County. This community means so much to me, and I’m committed to continuing to serve you with honesty, respect, and hard work. Thank you for your support it means the world to me.
