Building on the growing success of past Hemphill County Texas A&M AgriLife Beef Cattle Conferences, Andy Holloway has rolled out an impressive lineup for the 2020 event. The theme of this year’s fourth annual conference—which will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 28-29, 2020— is “Restoring the Roots,” a theme which will resonate throughout each presentation.

Digital Abstract will host its 3rd Annual Oil and Gas Symposium next Friday, Feb. 28, in Perryton. Symposium participants will receive information and resources relevant to the oil-and-gas industry, specific to their fields of interest and expertise.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) seeks public comments on its interim rule for the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), which helps partners develop and implement unique conservation solutions that engage farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners. The rule—now available on the Federal Register—takes effect on publication and includes changes to the program prescribed by the 2018 Farm Bill.

AUSTIN—New pipeline safety rules adopted by the Railroad Commission of Texas prohibit natural gas-distribution pipeline operators from installing underground cast-iron, wrought-iron or bare-steel pipelines. Other new pipeline safety requirements require operators to more thoroughly assess the potential public safety risk of gathering lines. The amendments were effective Jan. 6.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Ochiltree and Lipscomb counties will host the Northeast Panhandle Summer Crops Conference Feb. 20 at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus, 2314 S. Jefferson St., in Perryton.

With the impending implementation of the new hemp regulations in Texas, a hemp webinar series will be hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service crops committee in Wichita County.
