Opal I. Evans, 90, of Canadian, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in Canadian.

Justin Matlock Reid passed away Oct. 7, 2020, at his residence in Wells. Memorial services for Justin were held on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, at The River Church in Wells under the direction of Gipson Funeral Home.

On Oct. 27, 2020, Merle Ivens Guthrie, loving husband, father and papa passed away at the age of 80 years old. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at the First Baptist Church in Sharon, Oklahoma, at 1 pm, under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.

Denzil Doyle Cates, 78, returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, from his temporary home in Amarillo. There will be a graveside service at Heart Cemetery in Booker at 11 am on Friday, Oct. 30, with Steve Friskup officiating.

Jake Tolbert, 15, of Miami, passed away on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020. Services will at 10 am on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Briarwood Church in Pampa with Rev. Richard Royal, pastor of First Christian Church in Miami, and Brian Doughty, lay pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church in Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.carmichael-whatley. com/page/live-streaming.

Helen E. Klein, 84, passed away Oct. 10, 2020, at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Interment followed at Hoisington Cemetery in Hoisington, Kansas.

Dr. Clyde Cain, Th.D., D.Min., was born at home in Canadian, to J.C. and Jennie Lee Cain in 1935, and went to his home in heaven this past week on his 85th birthday. A celebration service was held at Edmond’s First Baptist Church at 11:30 am on Monday, Oct. 12.

Delorres Gail “Dee” Hornback Thompson went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020. Dee went peacefully in her sleep at her home in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She was 82. Visitation was held on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5-6, at Sanders Funeral Service in Kingfisher. Graveside service was held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

Lorene Hill Brown, 80, of Canadian and Bronte, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, in Canadian. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Brookshire Cemetery in Runnels County with Rev. Mark Turman, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Betty Cecille Plymesser passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 91. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 2 pm at the United Methodist Church of Arnett, with interment to follow at DeBolt Cemetery. Visitation will be available at Shaw Funeral Home of Arnett on Friday from 9 am to 7 pm.
