Sandy Lyn Poteet, 64, of Panhandle, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at her home. A celebration of her life was held at 10 am on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Quita Jones officiating. Services were under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Ronald Rayburn “Pirate” Spence, of Amarillo, died Oct. 13, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10 am, at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Amarillo.
Ronald was born Feb. 9, 1951, in Plainview, to Rayburn and Ollie Mae Spence. He married the love of his life, Mary Lancaster, in 1971, and, together, they had two children. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed tinkering around the shop. Some of his hobbies included building airplanes, working on cars, playing the lottery, but most of all, being with his family.
Erbin L. Crowell, 105, of Canadian, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019. Services were held on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 3 pm, at the First United Methodist Church of Canadian, with Pastor Lewis Holland and Pastor David Gerhardt officiating. Graveside services followed at Edith Ford Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Vonda Purcell Boughan, 80, of Higgins, died Sept. 27, 2019, at her home, following a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Higgins ISD auditorium. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Gerald Lane Holmes, 79, of Perryton, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, in Amarillo. The family will receive visitors at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 26 and 27, from 6 pm to 7 pm. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.

Alleen Bettis, 88, of Mineral Wells, died Sept. 14, 2019. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 2 pm, at the Edith Ford Cemeteries in Canadian. Arrangements were by Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells.
Heather Natasha Boatner, 35, formerly of Bryon, died Aug. 14, 2019, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. No services are scheduled. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael- Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian. Heather Natasha Boatner was born Aug. 19, 1983, in Bryan to John Richard Boatner and Mary Margaret Webb Waterfield. Survivors include her children, Serena Allen-Gathers, Terry Lee Gathers Jr., Matthew Paul Tatum, Tuff Luke Tatum, and Gabrielle Natasha Tatum; parents, Mary and Rick Waterfield; and sister, Elizabeth Ann Stephenson.
Clois Gene Beaty, 78, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died July 9, 2019. Celebration of Life services were held Aug. 9, at the BattleCreek Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Clois was born Dec. 7, 1940, in Canadian, to Lamond and Imogene (Welch) Beaty. Clois completed the first 12 years of his education in Canadian. He played Little League baseball, and basketball and football in junior high and high school.
