OBITUARY: LAURA LEE WILSON
March 4, 1940 — October 1, 2025
Laura Lee Wilson, 85, of Canadian, was reunited in heaven with the love her life, Kelly Wilson, and her daughter, Tracili, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be at 11 am on Saturday, October 4, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are with Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Lee was born in Canadian to Edgar Earl and Laura Kline Rhea. She attended Canadian schools and graduated with the CHS class of 1958. Lee and Kelly eloped on May 3, 1958. They chose to raise their children among family and friends in Canadian.
Lee opened Laura’s Flowers in 1975, where she created beautiful floral arrangements for the community for over 35 years. She continued to provide her expertise when needed. Lee was a long-term member of the HH Canasta Club. She was tough as nails, as well as a talented artist. She was still push-mowing her own yard and checking in regularly with the neighbors. She loved nothing more than hosting her family and they loved nothing more than her cooking and baking.
Those left behind to miss her sense of humor and witty sarcasm are her children: son, Kelley Wilson and wife, Kim of Amarillo; daughter, Jonilyn Hanes and husband, Jesse of Canadian; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a long-time florist, Lee loved flowers, and as she would often say, “In lieu of memorials, send flowers.”
