I WAS A MEMBER of the CHS Wildcat Band when we won the first-ever Sweepstakes. I think it was in my Sophomore year (1961-62), and I was pleased to see the 42nd is still recognized as a major accomplishment for a high school band! I recall that we did not win again when I was a Junior—I was the drum major and I’ll never forget the judge’s comment, “Some confusion in the company...
