OBITUARY: Lonnie Ray Trout
August 13, 1949 — October 16, 2025
Lonnie Ray Trout of Mobeetie, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 16, 2025 at Mesa View Senior Living in Canadian at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 3 days.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, October 21, at the First Baptist Church in Mobeetie with Rev. James Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie. Viewing will be conducted on Monday, October 20, from 9 am-6 pm at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Lonnie was born in Wheeler on August 13, 1949, to Albert Neavels Trout and Ella Jane (Bradley) Trout.
He graduated from Mobeetie High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1967. He graduated from West Texas State University, Class of 1971. Soon after graduation, Lonnie went to work for Transwestern/Enron Pipeline Company, where he worked for over 35 years. After retiring, he worked a couple of years pumping wells. His next “retirement” job was as a contract mail carrier, which he did for six years. He enjoyed visiting with the people on his route and made many friends. Lonnie was also a rancher; however, he had many other interests outside of work. These included playing golf, fishing, dancing and snow skiing to name a few. His #1 joy was spending time with his great grandkids and watching them play sports.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Bradley Trout and Albert DeWayne Trout; a granddaughter, Mattilyn Grace LaMar; brother-in-law Dennis Eugene Gill; sister-in-law Kathy Lynn Gill; and his father-in-law, Jack Lloyd Gill.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; a son, Tracy Aaron Trout and wife, Shanna; four daughters, Shawna Lynn Trout Owens and husband Mark, Mindy Leighann Trout, Kimberly Dawn Bergen, Kelli Ann Bergen Dawson and husband Dallas; mother-in-law Roberta Cannon; three sisters, Carolyn McGee, Marolyn O’Quinn and husband Ray, and Judy Watts and husband Richie; daughter-in-law Cali Bargardo and husband Frank; 15 grandchildren; brother-in-law Billy James; lifelong friends Bill and Virginia Ridgway; and many other family and friends.
