Leadership Canadian Launches Inaugural Class
CANADIAN, AUGUST 14, 2025 — Leadership Canadian, the brainchild of Tanya Holloway and Hemphill County Judge Lisa Johnson, officially launched its inaugural class on Tuesday, August 12, with a Kick Off Meeting held in Canadian.
The vision of Leadership Canadian is “to cultivate a network of informed, inspired, and innovative leaders who strengthen rural communities.”
Attendees enjoyed roast beef sliders and charcuterie while hearing from guest speaker Kristen Moudy, Wheeler’s Economic Development Director.
The first Leadership Canadian class includes five participants: Carlos Lopez, Courtney Rodrigues, John McIntyre, Jenny Jones, and Seciah Quezada.
Leadership Canadian is governed by a board that includes founders Tanya Holloway and Judge Lisa Johnson, along with board members Caroline Crouch and Cassi Warren.
The program will meet on the second Tuesday of every month, with September’s session focusing on current issues facing rural Texas.
