First Community Women's Progressive Dinner draws a crowd
The first Community Women’s Progressive Dinner—described as an evening of food, fellowship and faith—was held in Canadian on Saturday, October 25, and proved to be a great success, according to the organizers. Cassi Warren reported that about 70 women from seven different congregations progressed through four church locations during the evening. The goal was to bring women from across the community together for an evening of fellowship, encouragement and delicious food. Host churches for this opening event included the First Christian Church, which provided appetizers; the Church of Christ, which served drinks and salads with assistance from the Catholic Church; the Methodist and Presbyterian churches, which provided the evening’s main course and sides; and concluding with the First Baptist Church, where desserts were served. “A great time was had by all,” Warren reported, “and I think collectively we agreed to try and do something similar in the spring, with a goal of holding two events a year.”
