(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced this week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.03 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 2 percent more than in June 2022.

These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.

Canadian’s $59,348.09 tax rebate for June showed a 17 percent decrease from last year’s, but its current year-to-date numbers, $383,601.63, are up 7.14 percent from the 2022 YTD payments of $358,014.17. Booker had a bump of 38.63 percent in the YTD payment of $149,413.08 compared to last year’s $107,772.36. Perryton’s figures showed a 10.12 percent decrease for the current period, from $237,158.65 in 2022 to $213,146.96 this year.

For Miami, the current period showed a 58.96 percent decrease, from $6,930.98 in 2022 to $2,844.40 in 2023. Higgins’ collection for June of $2,472.26 was 27.54 percent above the same month in 2022. Follett showed a 11.52 percent increase in its net payment when compared to last year’s.
