CANADIAN -- U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Hemphill County Executive Director Janee Cross today announced that Hemphill County is accepting applications for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) to address damages from the Smokehouse Creek Wildfire that occurred in February. ECP signup will begin on April 9, 2024, and end on June 10, 2024.

HEMPHILL COUNTY–Farmers and ranchers have until Aug. 1, 2023, to nominate candidates to serve on the Hemphill County Farm Service Agency (FSA) Committee. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) accepts nominations each year in certain Local Administrative Areas (LAAs) for individuals to serve on these locally led committees.

Agricultural producers who have not yet completed their crop acreage reports after spring planting should make an appointment with the Hemphill County Farm Service Agency (FSA) before the applicable deadline.
