Cutter McLain, of Miami, captured the Top-Hand Award at the Maverick Ranch Rodeo on June 15, in Cimarron, New Mexico. McLain represented the 3B Cattle & Infinity Cattle out of Miami and Floydada. The Maverick Ranch Rodeo was made up of 16 teams competing for top team, top hand, top horse, and event awards; and a punched ticket to compete at the 24th World Championship Ranch Rodeo on Nov. 7-10 in Amarillo. McLain rode the bronc for 3B & Infinity, and took part in the branding, doctoring, and wild-cow milking. “We didn’t do so good at Haskell last weekend, so we had to redeem ourselves,” said McLain. He enjoys competing in ranch rodeos because of the people and likes being able to show his abilities and horses. He had a good bronc ride and then got to rope in each event, which qualified him for the Top-Hand Award.
