Two Canadian ISD graduates, Trace Mitchell and Benjamin Bryant, are two of 12 area graduates awarded the Mona Jennings Freeman Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,200 each. Graduates were chosen from these schools: White Deer, Pampa, Borger, Highland Park, Canadian, Shamrock, and Wheeler.

Other 2023 scholarship recipients include, Braylee Lewis from Highland Park ISD, Breeley Harris and Katherine Woollard from Wheeler ISD, Taysen Swires and Kaydee Damron from White Deer ISD, Sydney Coole and Charlie Glass from Shamrock ISD, Huston Skinner and Hallie Hawthorne from Pampa ISD, and Kelby Peralez from Borger ISD.

Over the past five years, 62 seniors have received a total of $88,000 in scholarships from the Mona Jennings Freeman Memorial Scholarship fund. The scholarship is funded by generous contributions as well as participants in the annual benefit golf tournament.

The next Mona Jennings Memorial Scholarship golf tournament will be held August 12, 2023, at the Pampa Country Club.
