Comptroller distributes $1.2 billion in monthly sales tax revenue to local governments

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 1.9 percent more than in November 2022. These allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in July, August and September by quarterly filers.

Canadian’s tax rebate increased slightly by 1.58 percent in the net payment category for this same period in 2022, from $61,257.11 to $62,229.19. There was an 11.25 percent increase in the overall 2023 payments-to-date when compared to 2022. Perryton’s rebate went up by 14.60 percent in net payments, but logged a -3.43 percent decrease in 2023 payments-to-date, compared to 2022. Booker showed a 21.71 percent increase in net payments this period, as well as 24.96 percent increase in payments-to-date.  Miami experienced a boost of 59.88 percent in the net payment slot for this period.
