Members of the American Legion Zybach-Owens Post 56 met at the Mesa View Complex on Saturday afternoon, October 28, for a project to install a refurbished flagpole.

Warren Rivers, Jason Bradford, and Alfred Godino used a North Plains Electric Coop bucket truck to remove the pole from its location at the former nursing home site. Rivers repaired and repainted it.

John McGarr credits Mesa View Senior Living Administrator Audra McComas for suggesting “transplanting” the pole from the old nursing home to the new facility.  McComas indicated a solar lighting system will be set up for the pole.

A formal dedication and raising of Old Glory for the first time on the flagpole will take place on Friday, November 10, at 2 pm. The public is invited.

The flagpole is located above the Mesa View Senior Living Heritage Community Center and Administration offices.
