Texas Oil and Gas Production Statistics for January 2023

AUSTIN––Statewide and county crude oil and natural gas production for January 2023 reported in the tables below came from 160,420 oil wells and 84,146 gas wells.

Crude oil production reported by the RRC is limited to oil produced from oil leases and does not include condensate, which is reported separately by the RRC.

In January, preliminary figures for statewide production of the total volume of crude oil were 111,616,919 BBLS (barrels); and average daily production, 3,600,546 BBLS; for natural gas, 845,616,919 mcf (thousand cubic feet) total volume; and average daily production, 27,264,215 mcf.

In January 2022, the updated total volume for crude oil was 127,301,080 BBLS; and for natural gas, 952,423,960 mcf.
