Veteran CHS teacher Ron Shrader has been named one of the top finalists to the Frank Kemerer Award, which will be presented by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and Ed 311.

On Aug. 22, 1949, Life Magazine put on its cover, Clarence Hailey Long, a working cowboy on the JA Ranch. The magazine was publishing a series of Leonard McCombe photographs on ranching in the American West.

Victoria Valenzuela and Alexis Valenzuela were among 1,284 honor students recognized by Midwestern State University for the Spring 2020 semester. The honor roll included 477 students on the president’s honor roll, 361 students on the provost’s honor roll, including both Victoria and Alexis, and 446 students on the dean’s honor roll. A student who completes 12 hours in one semester with no grade lower than an A (4.0) will be included on the president’s honor roll. A student who completes 12 hours in one semester with a grade-point average of 3.75 to 3.99 and no grade lower than a C will be included on the provost’s honor roll. A student who completes a 12 hours in one semester with a grade-point average of 3.50 to 3.74 and no grade lower than a C will be included on the dean’s honor roll. No students on the honor roll are allowed to have semester grades of I, WF, or NC. Victoria and Alexis are the daughters of George and Cynthia Reeves of Canadian.
