UIL issues new guidelines for summer training, fall competition seasons to begin ‘as scheduled’

On Wednesday, July 8, the UIL released revisions to the COVID-19 risk-mitigation guidelines for summer strength and conditioning and marching band activities, effective immediately until the first day of instruction or the start of in-season activities, whichever is earlier. According to the newest guidelines, students may now access locker rooms and engage in drills “that involve one or more students on offense against one or more students on defense” beginning Monday, July 13.
