The Canadian Wildcat junior varsity had a fight on their hands when they met the Spearman Lynx Thursday evening. Their serendipitous clash resulted when both teams’ scheduled opponents were forced to cancel—and, although the Cats emerged with a 34-20 win and their undefeated district record intact, the game lived up to its billing.
High school and middle school riders from across the Panhandle region rolled into the Canadian rodeo grounds on over the weekend, as the Canadian Rodeo Club hosted the Tri-State Region 1 Junior High and High School Rodeo.
In last month’s meeting, council members learned that a recently discovered error in the city’s billing process had resulted in a failure to bill most commercial accounts for sewer service over the last eight months. The price tag: approximately $116,000 in lost revenue.
