There’s a new stop sign in town

Body
City Street Superintendent Wesley Wallace erected a new stop sign at the corner of Washita and First Streets Tuesday morning next to Lowe’s Grocery Store. The sign was installed after the city had received several complaints about motorists entering the intersection without slowing or stopping, and causing a safety hazard. On April 20, the City Council authorized an ordinance implementing the stop sign.

Unique Character Passes Thru

Canadian entertained a very unique character Friday and Saturday last week when an old-time cowboy who called himself “Idaho Bill” Pearson, spent the night in our city, on his way to Washington, D.C. He was carrying as his passenger a big cinnamon bear, weighing 650 pounds, which was, during the traveling time, chained to the rear seat of the Ford which the man was driving.
