In their second face-off this year, the Canadian Wildcat junior varsity fell again to the Bushland Falcons—this time in a decisive 23-39 loss. The Cats played really hard, said Coach Tim Fletcher, but were plagued by turnovers.

Abraham leads Wildcat XC team to first at Lubbock Invitational Saturday

Wildcat cross-country runner George Abraham led his field in the boys varsity 5K event on Saturday, completing the run in 18:22 for first place, ahead of teammates Rylun Clark (4th) and Ivan Robledo (9th), Jaxton Valenzuela (16th), Ethan Flowers (17th), and Cade Dunbar (19th), all of whom were in the top-20 and contributed to the Canadian team’s first-place. Anderson Perkins (24th), Lino Lugo (26th), and Eric Huntress (27th) finished the 3.2-mile run, which took place in 95-degree heat at Lubbock’s Mae Simmons Park.

Cleanup at Duck Ponds

The Hemphill County Recreation Complex was a hive of activity this week as a public/private partnership of county employees and officials, and volunteers from local businesses, joined forces to give the popular duck ponds a proper grooming.
