Walking into Rotary, we were all greeted with the beautiful sight of seven exquisite pieces from the newest exhibit at The Citadelle Art Museum called “The Global Language of Headwear.” Wendie Cook pulled a few strings to be able to move the pieces from the museum for us to see. There is no other place that the people these pieces represent could be present in the same room with a peaceful outcome.

I am so excited that we are in the last quarter of the nightmare year of 2020. However, and much more importantly, I am tremendously excited about this year’s annual quilt show. Only a pandemic could force us to change our yearly show, but in this case, it has been a good thing.

The Canadian Education Foundation is excited to announce this year’s Innovative Teaching Grant winners. Each year, the CEF receives applications from teachers from all four CISD campuses for innovative projects that are outside of the school’s regular budget.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Canadian High School’s Coach Jay McCook, was named the first secondary Teacher on the Rise winner of the 2020 school year.
