Carolyn Joyce Cockrell, 88, of Canadian, formally of Amarillo, was enveloped in God’s peace and love on January 9, 2024, in Canadian.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Gage Memorial Cemetery in Gage, Oklahoma, with Terry Tyson officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Lynda “JoAnn” Brewster, 80, of Canadian, passed away on January 9, 2024, in Canadian. 

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at First Christian Church of Canadian, with Rev. Matt Cook, pastor, and Scott King officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

The Panhandle Regional Planning Commission Dispute Resolution Center will offer Basic Mediation training beginning Thursday, February 1st at 5:30. The classes will be weekly on Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 8:30 and will run through April 25th. The training is certified as an MCLE course by the State Bar of Texas for 40 hours of CLE with 2.5 hours of ethics.

The training will be offered at the PRPC Building, 415 SW 8th Avenue. There will be an option to attend remotely via Zoom if individuals are not able to attend in person.
