I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Canadian ISD Board of Trustees. I have long been an advocate for education and Canadian’s reputation for its academic excellence was a major reason for my decision to locate here in 2011. I personally have experience with education at a variety of levels and know the value of having a strong foundation in the K-12 level.
Peggy was born on November 28, 1932, in McAllen, Texas, to August and Mary Winters. Peggy graduated from high school in Hennessey, Oklahoma, in 1950. She graduated on a Friday and married Charles Heusel the following Monday in Hennessey. In 1968, they moved with their children to Canadian, Texas. It was there they homesteaded five acres of land.
