FORT ELLIOTT CISD BOND ISSUE SAMPLE BALLOT
The Fort Elliott Consolidated Independent School District is seeking voter approval of a $2 million bond issue in the November 4 Election. Voters are asked to authorize the FECISD Board of Trustees to issue $2 million in bonds to be used for construction, improvement, expansion, renovation and equipment of school facilities, as well as district-wide safety and security enhancements, which includes acquisition of both school sites and school buses. The bond issue requires voter approval of an ad valorem tax rate for the district that exceeds the current Voter-Approval Tax Rate (VATR). If passed, the Maintenance and Operations tax rate will be raised by 2.9 percent over last year’s rate.
Voters within the Fort Elliott CISD include some residents of Wheeler County, Gray County and Hemphill County.
