City of Canadian launches official Facebook page to improve public communication
CANADIAN — The City of Canadian has launched its official Facebook page to provide residents, businesses, and visitors with timely updates regarding City services, public meetings, community events, emergency information, and ongoing projects.
The official page, City of Canadian, Texas, will serve as an additional communication tool to help keep the public informed and connected with City operations. The page will include updates on City Council meetings, public works notices, utility information, project updates, community reminders, and other matters of public interest.
“The City of Canadian has a responsibility to communicate clearly, consistently, and where people are already looking for information,” said Mayor Terrill Bartlett. “This page gives us another way to keep residents informed, promote community pride, and highlight the things that make Canadian unique.”
The City emphasized that the Facebook page is intended to supplement, not replace, official City communication channels. Official notices, agendas, ordinances, records, and legal postings will continue to be maintained through City Hall and the City’s official website.
The page will also be used to highlight Canadian’s identity as a community rooted in history, public service, economic activity, outdoor heritage, and the arts. Future posts may include information about local landmarks, downtown activity, City projects, public facilities, and community partnerships.
“This is not just about posting reminders,” Mayor Bartlett said. “It is about telling Canadian’s story in a professional way and making sure residents have access to accurate information directly from the City.”
The City’s Facebook page is not monitored 24 hours a day. Residents should call 911 for emergencies. For City services, utility questions, or official business, residents should contact City Hall directly.
